About Wm. Mulherin’s Sons

Wm. Mulherin’s Sons is a Fishtown restaurant known for wood-fired Italian cuisine, a thoughtful beverage program, and warm, attentive hospitality. We are seeking a Server/Bartender who enjoys connecting with guests and can deliver excellent service in both the dining room and behind the bar.

The Role

This is a cross-trained position. Depending on the schedule and the needs of service, you will work as either a server or a bartender. You should be comfortable guiding a full dining experience, preparing and serving beverages, and stepping in where the team needs support.

What You’ll Do

• Welcome guests and provide attentive, knowledgeable service throughout their visit.
• Take food and beverage orders, make recommendations, and communicate dietary needs or special requests accurately.
• Learn the food, wine, beer, and cocktail menus and speak confidently about pairings and ingredients.
• Prepare and serve cocktails, wine, beer, and nonalcoholic beverages when assigned to the bar.
• Manage a dining section or bar guests while maintaining service standards during busy periods.
• Enter orders accurately in the POS system and handle payments and cash responsibly.
• Complete opening, closing, restocking, and cleaning duties for both server and bartender shifts.
• Work closely with hosts, runners, kitchen staff, and fellow front-of-house team members to keep service moving smoothly.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service requirements.

Who You Are

• Experienced in restaurant service, bartending, or both; upscale restaurant experience is preferred.
• Interested in learning the full food and beverage program and working in both roles.
• Warm, observant, organized, and able to stay composed during a busy service.
• Comfortable using a POS system and handling multiple guest needs at once.
• Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.

Working Conditions/Environment

• The person having this position may have to stand and/or walk, push, kneel, bend, balance, squat, reach and stretch for eight (8) hours per day.
• Agility in executing fast-paced movements to navigate different areas of the property efficiently.
• The person having this responsibility may have to move, pull, carry, or lift objects weighing at least 50 pounds.
• The work environment characteristics described herein are representative of those an employee typically encounters while performing the essential functions of the position.
