BHE GT&S JOB DESCRIPTION Provides advanced scheduling and project controls support for major capital construction projects on BHE GT&S gas transmission facilities. Integrates project data into the master schedule, analyzes critical paths and risks, and advises project leadership on options to keep work on time and within budget.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Provide scheduling and project controls support for major capital construction projects on BHE GT&S gas transmission facilities.
- Integrate project data into the master schedule, analyzes critical paths and risks, and advises project leadership on options to keep work on time and within budget.
- Develop, baseline and maintain project schedules in Primavera P6 EPPM using company templates and standards.
- Coordinate schedules across planning, design, procurement and construction activities.
- Compile and analyze information from internal teams and construction contractors; lead recurring schedule update meetings; identify critical path risks, constraints, interdependencies and potential milestone delays; recommend recovery options.
- Verify and document contractor progress, incorporate contractor schedules into the project master schedule, and maintain project metrics such as progress curves, earned value and completion rates. Provide clear lifecycle summary reports to management.
- Provide scheduling expertise for project planning, change-order negotiations, contract development and bid evaluations.
- Review contractor schedule logic and updates, assess schedule risk and recommend alternatives to prevent or recover slippage.
- Develop and maintain scheduling practices and procedures and provide instruction on Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS Project Scheduler 1: One year of direct experience required.
Project Scheduler 2: Three years of direct experience required.
Sr Project Scheduler: Five years of direct experience required.
All Levels: - Knowledge of company operations, safe work practices, and the natural gas industry.
- Strong working knowledge of construction, inspection, and documentation requirements for transmission pipeline facilities, including applicable regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6 enterprise project portfolio management software.
- Demonstrate proficiency with MS Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in business, project management or related field. (Typically four years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.)
